Our Story
It was Britain in the 1960s and the country’s youth were in full revolt. While the Beatles reinvented music and Twiggy reinvented chic, a young hairdresser from Liverpool named John Davis wanted to reinvent the hair care industry.
He immigrated to Canada and shared his vision of creating better products with a brilliant woman named Lotte. She soon became his partner. Not just in business, but in life. Together they started AG in the basement of their Vancouver home — filling shampoo bottles, and baby bottles, at the same time.
AG Hair was not an overnight success. It was an overtime success. One by one, their customers became lifelong converts. They spread the word, and today over 12,000 salons carry AG across North America. Why? Because the stuff works like magic.
Why AG?
It's simple. AG works. All products come packed with botanicals and healing ingredients. What they don't come with is salt, parabens, gluten, PABA, DEA or animal testing.
How can we be sure? AG cares. Since John and Lotte Davis founded the company in 1989, all products have been manufactured in-house and sold in only top-notch salons.
And when AG isn't producing some of the industry's bottled-up best, AG gives. AG's Women Leading Change Foundation gives women access to education. AG has built a school a year for girls in sub-Saharan Africa. At home, the company helps fund breast cancer awareness, education and research.
