Because there ain’t no party unless you have the perfect party skirt.

—Founded on their love for celebration and fun, Lauren and Mariel Armstrong reinvented a classic. With their brand of fresh and brightly coloured skirts and their talent for turning every occasion into an event, PartySkirts by SKOT are taking the fashion world by storm. With features on Teen Vogue, Refinery29 and more, plus a partnership with Shopbop, there’s no telling what these girls will do next.

We sat down with them to get the goods on what it’s like being the queens of the perfect occasion. If you’re not dying to get your hands on one of these skirts by the end, check out their Instagram feed and dream.

How did Party Skirts get started?
PARTYSKIRTS happened really organically for us. A few years ago we had our mom whip out the sewing machine to create some items we felt were missing from our wardrobes. She made us a few different items but the star item she helped us make was the PARTYSKIRT. After making a few changes to the waist band and construction the PARTYSKIRT was born! We started to wear them out together. We would have girls crowded around us asking where we got our skirts. From there we both worked away at our own schooling and careers and sat down about a year ago and looked at each other and we both agreed we needed to give PARTYSKIRTS a chance to be a business.
