Back to School
The start of September is always filled with fun back-to-school ads. So we couldn’t help reminisce ‘90s back to school looks, and finding today’s equivalent modern spin. Happy throw-back-Thursday!
Girls of the OC
“California,” was the epitome ‘90s soundtrack for girls of the OC; where every girl from the West Coast wanted Marisa Cooper’s effortless beach hair. Make going back to school easy and cool with AG’s Beach Bomb. Scrunch a small amount of Beach Bomb through damp hair, adding more if needed. Air-dry or gently diffuse dry, setting dryer on low volume, high heat. For an added second-day hair look, mix Beach Bomb with Texture Spray for more hold and texture.
‘Cause I’m saved by the bell
Volume, volume, volume. Big hair rocked the hallways of Bayside High. Get the modern-day Kelly Kapowski with AG’s Bigwigg. Alcohol-free Bigwigg doesn’t dry out hair and is the ideal volume booster for all hair types and lengths. Spray Bigwigg into the roots of clean, damp hair. Work through with fingers and blow-dry. Bigwigg can be reapplied on dry hair for new lift the next day. Top off your look with a pair of chic overalls.
From Blair Waldorf to Rory Gilmore, prep school hair has always been clean and meticulous. But we’re taking cue from Fall 2015 runways by adding a new twist to the preppy hair. For a half-up, half-down, tease the crown and apply a fine mist of Ultradynamics to your finished style before pinning the hair back. For a low-pony, try emulsify a small amount of AG’s Smoothing Balm in your hands and smooth over dry centre-part hair. Focus on smoothing and taming frizz and flyaways at the roots and polishing to the ends before tying it back.
Denim-on-denim and DIY ripped jeans were a thing of the ‘90s. And what’s old is new again. That’s why we love the look of music blogger, Courtney Trop (see her Instagram for denim-wear inspirations). The key to this look is having moveable, tousled hair. Try AG’s Colour Care Texture Spray that’s guaranteed not to build up or weigh down the hair. Spray onto dry hair, coaxing, lifting and scrunching until you’ve created your ideal texture. And it’s enhanced with sunflower seed extract to protect hair colour against damaging UV rays.
