Festival Hair Trends

Now that Weekend 1 of Coachella has come and gone, we are officially in full-throttle festival frenzy – how major was the Beyoncé and Destiny’s Child reunion? We loved that this year was more about relaxed textures and less about intricate braids and flower crowns. We picked our favourite looks from the weekend that we know we’ll be wearing all summer long – read on to see the hottest trends of the festival season!

Natural Texture

Laid-back festival goers: you’re in luck. This year, natural curls and bed-head waves ruled the desert. If you have naturally curly hair, apply a generous amount of Details defining cream to damp hair and air dry to finish. For straight hair, create loose waves with a large-barrel curling iron and spritz Sea Spray beachy wave finish throughout lengths – be sure to let curls cool before spraying. Refresh all hair types on day two with a tab of Dry Lift texture and volume paste.

Sleek 90s’ Throwback

What is Coachella without old-school vibes? Supermodel Bella Hadid’s scrunchie and hoops combo was 90’s perfection and we couldn’t get enough. To achieve this look, smooth hair back with Texture Gloss undone definition and secure in place with a scrunchie. Finish with Frizzproof argan anti-humidity finishing spray to lockout flyaways.

Wide-brimmed Hat

Nothing beats fashion and functionality like a wide-brimmed hat – protect your strands from harsh rays and have your outfit of the day on point! For maximum protection, apply BB Cream total benefit hair primer before stepping into the sun. This multi-functioning formula smooths and softens hair while blocking harmful UVA and UVB rays.

Classic Space Buns

Add a relaxed vibe to classic space buns by leaving half of your hair down in beachy waves. Prep roots with Dry Lift texture and volume paste to add grit, volume and texture. Split the top half of your hair into two and secure into buns. Spritz the bottom half of your hair with Tousled Texture and scrunch to achieve that piecey effortless look.
