In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), AG Hair is voluntarily recalling the AG Hair Sweet Heat Hair Dryer in the U.S. because the hair dryer is not equipped with an immersion protection device, which is supposed to guard against the possible risk of electrocution or shock in the event of total immersion of the product in water.
The Hair Dryer is white and has the words “Sweet Heat” in black on the blower nozzle and the words “AG Hair” in grey and black on the back of the blower nozzle above the handle.
Please stop using your Hair Dryer immediately and contact AG Hair at the toll-free number below to receive instructions on how to receive a pre-paid mailing label and packaging to return the Hair Dryer and participate in the recall. Affected consumers will receive a full refund of the purchase price.

What is being recalled?

We are directly contacting customers who we believe purchased the AG Hair Sweet Heat Hair Dryer and asking that they participate in the voluntary recall and return the AG Hair Sweet Heat Hair Dryer to AG Hair. Upon request, we will provide each customer who purchased the AG Hair Sweet Heat Hair Dryer a prepaid US Postal Service label to make the return as easy as possible. We are also asking that they stop using the AG Hair Sweet Heat Hair Dryer immediately.
Does it matter where I purchased the hair dryer?
No. It does not matter where you purchased the AG Hair Sweet Heat Hair Dryer. Any customer in the USA who purchased an AG Hair Sweet Heat Hair Dryer can contact us for a refund.
What do I receive for returning the recalled items?
Once AG Hair receives the recalled item, AG Hair will send the customer a check for $99.

What if I purchased the hair dryer and gave it as a gift?
If the buyer sent the AG Hair Sweet Heat Hair Dryer to a giftee directly, then the buyer should contact the giftee, provide them the prepaid US Postal Service label and ask them to return the dryer to AG Hair. If the giftee needs to request a prepaid label, please have them call (1 866) 924 4247.
I have a Sweet Heat Dryer is that being recalled for safety reason also?
No this recall does not affect the Canadian version of the Sweet Heat Dryer
Why, what is the difference?
This recall is due to differing building codes in the US and Canada. The US requires that an appliance such as a dryer has a built in immersion device to protect against shock or electrocution in the event of total immersion of the unit in water. You may have seen the most common type which is a large plug with a red breaker on many US appliances). Canadian dryers do not require this device as our building codes stipulate that Ground Fault Protectors (GFI’s) are built into the electrical receptacles in your home particularly bathrooms or other areas were water and electricity might combine. IF you do not have a GFI built into your bathroom, or you are unsure please do not use this dryer, or any other electrical device, until you check with your electrician.
If I am not sure can I return it anyway?
AG Hair wants you to be happy with any purchase of any AG product. If you still feel unsure or concerned we will be happy to refund your money. Just send us the dryer back with a copy of your receipt and we will take care of the rest.
